Summer Deprived

Unruly how the sun is shining and i'm stuck with an illness that deprives me of the vitamins I need. Pale and lacking the proper energy to circumvent the deterrents that keep being thrown at me, I am eager to jump out into the heat of summer! Yes, even in the 100 degree scorching weather... granted there must be a pool nearby ;)

All I can think about is basking in the sun and getting a glow so many others will envy. Oh but just my luck, I am stuck in an abyss far from the eyes of others. My hot summer cravings come in full force!

I reallly want this top above and the whole look goes particularly well if I looked exactly like this... so not only is the bikini a go-to look, the whole style of the photo is indeed an inspiration.

For bright and contrast, I think this look works well (especially with a hat). Get the relaxed, grunge-hip style that shows your care-free attitude :)

If we're gonna go ahead and make it a hat theme, this is my pick for the style/summer.

This is also a great transition color for when you're pasty and need to get a tan :) I like to mix and feminize masculine styles. I think it's always been a trait of mine since I like breaking boundaries.

Last but not least, I think the below look works well for those who want to keep it retro/vintage with a modern feminine style. A piece that you can jump in the water with and put on a skirt or overlay to grab a bite to eat or even dance in the mid-summer nights!

So although I am still battling an illness unknown to man, that won't stop all of you to go out and have some summer fun with out me!!!

ENJOY SUMMER BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!!

So this is how it has to be...

Feelin' Sick...
Ugh...

But, yet all I can think about is when i'll be able to feel better and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.. like FOOD!

Why can't inspiration and style come from food too? I think it can, granted don't let me anywhere near a table of goodies without first restraining me to an unbreakable banister.

Take a look at this mini-cheeseburger!

...and let's not forget our thirst quencher for the summer ;)

The Sarasota 1 large bottle of Moscato or Riesling Wine
1 can of raspberry lemonade concentrate
a splash of sprite
crushed raspberries
mix together and enjoy!!!

Ok, so now I just made myself even more hungry and thirsty.  Even though i'm feeling glum, I'm not gonna skimp out on stylish attire.

Since I'm currently not able to update this with my own image attire, I did the next best thing... gave you one pleasing to look at :)  Even though it's been around 100 degrees outside the past few days, this outfit is to my liking due to the fact that it's extremely chilly on the bottom floor of where I live.  It's weird because when you walk upstairs it's like a Sauna.  The temperature is not consistent at all.  So what better way to wear summer and be prepared?  Layers.  I walk around with either a long sleeve attached to me or lying around somewhere easy for me to grab.  Be efficient, functional and stylish all while being casual.

Let's Get Some Blues UP in HErE!!!!

The weather has been a bomb the past two days with rain and clouds. Definitely not late June weather at all.

Weather really sets up my mood and own sense of style. My basic thought process when it comes to picking out something to wear.... what's the weather? Is it raining?- then no white, is it hot?- then possible shorts or tank, Is it a formal/casual day? Will I be comfortable? Can the outfit transition from day to night if needed? Also, will I be taking public transportation?- related to the type of shoe and non-creeper-driven outfit choice.

Changes in weather, mood, and season all are factors each day. Granted, I'm not going to worry too much over it.

You really can't go wrong with the blues...

Above: Great summer time look. Layers can be worn and patterns don't make you look too busy or heavy. In combination with white clothes, you can also have an easier time picking out different accessories to change up your look from day to night.

Above: Another great casual look bringing dyed shirts and Jean button downs back in style. What's great about this look is how anyone can take these simple elements and make them your own. Think about the type of accessories you want to complete your look. For instance, large and bright neon accessories can make you look more retro, choosing metals and heavy accessories can make a hipster/punk look, or simple stylish accessories can make the look more sophisticated casual. Lastly, don't forget the hair. The type and style of hair completes the look!

Above: This look is a more themed approach. I love the colors and a great loungy Look for when you just want to relax. It's for the lazy days where someone pops on over unexpectedly and you say, "What? Oh really?? I didn't know you were coming and I had this on."

Above : If you want more elegant and summer, this is your look. It's a very feminine approach. Elegant and comfortable without being too fancy, this look can easily go from morning to night without doing much except possibly changing makeup and hair.

The last Bottom two are pretty much self explanatory. I couldn't leave out the hair and spikey lover's. I also had to put in the last one for those deep strict fashion editorial lovers.

Make Mee Up!!

I believe in beauty in all things.. yes.. corny.
However, this has led me to love one's facial canvas!!! No matter who you are, male or female, there is something lying there... something that can be brought out.. something under the surface. The weird thing is, like one of my professors had said in the past, "There's even beauty in the fact that it is truly ugly." Hahaha I will always remember that. So what was that ugly thing that he was referring to, you might ask??? My piece of art sculpture. Yup yup. So I thus have a perspective that may differ from some and may be loved by others.

I have been asked by family and friends to provide some consultation, try some makeup ideas on them, and even make them over by way of hair or face. Granted, I'm no professional, I don't think you have to be in order to try things out or even be good at it. Professionals have it great since they probably know more techniques, supplies, etc., but new eyes and inspiration always help too. I myself, truly despise wearing makeup. I do wear it when there's occasion or to cover up the lack of beauty sleep and toxic chemicals that I have built in my body of sugary sweets at times. I can't help it if I'm in close proximity to food... but that's another topic. Here's some of my inspiration and what I think works--

Above: I truly love the contrast among the lips, eyes and hair color. Great styling and photograph! This is a great summer look because the makeup doesn't look heavy at all, such a great quality. The look is lightweight yet rich at the same time!

Try A Frosty Look!

Above: I want to walk into a Christmas party like this. Yes, I do. It's on my to-do-list as we speak :P Frosty is a hard look. You really have to think about color AND texture, otherwise the look can go wrong. The only thing I would be afraid of, would be to walk into the X-mas party and have everyone stare at me because one of my lashes fell into the food :x Eek!

For those who are willing to stay neutral...

Anyone can wear a barely there look. But what makes this one great?? It's all in the dark eyeliner. Make sure you emphasize the blackness and the thickness to make your eyes pop. The shape of the liner is crucial in this case because it enhances the size and shape of your eyes. Pick the look you're looking for first!! Also, don't look dead. Even though you may want a clean and fresh faced look, give some life to your face. I've been in a very pink and corally mood these days :)

The Plaza Kvinna May 2012 Photoshoot

source:trendhunter

Model: Annabella Barber
Photographer: Jaclyn Adams
Stylist: Vass Arvanitis
Makeup: Julie Provis
Hair: Joey Scandizzo

Looks like we're back to floral inspirations that don't involve looking like a Grandmother :) I love this photoshoot due to the fact that florals can really be ageless if you wear them properly. It's all about making your own style and creating fabrics that have rich color. I'm not too fond of pastel florals, but if work the right way depending on the person, maybe it'll work too.

All in all, I think style is whatever you make of it. Anyone who knows me will remember me saying that it's not about what's in style but actually making a style that is your own. I don't believe there is a wrong way to wear things or do's and don'ts because eventually you can break all rules. CONFIDENCE IS KEY!!! I believe that there are also people out there that can truly pull off any style. I guess it's due to the gift of their gene pool...

Edita Vilkeviciute H&M Magazine Summer Photoshoot

LOOOOOVE
These images not only capture the feeling of the moment, but also the great use of composition to create a very ethereal, peaceful, and gorgeous look. I want all of these pieces and they are exactly the type of clothing I would have in my closet...
Some of my favorite looks from the shoot:

I really love love love this shoot and creative style. Absolutely love the colors and the images are even better with that blond hair!!! Blond hair would probably clash with my skin tone, but oh how do I want it! On my to do list: think about getting blond hair (wink wink)

Weekend Road Trip Inspiration

Can't back out now!!!
it's been planned and cancelled, waited for, scrutinized over...
The time is here for the road trip which I have no money for. Eeeek! But it's All for one of my besties that I am determined this year we will have to follow through. Felt ill this morning but that's not gonna stop me... or is it???

Keep going..you can do it..

My mind is saying go go! But my body is falling behind. Ive had a very hard week in regards to sleep and getting into that deep REM stage. With out it my skin has not been replenished, nor my strength. The dark circles under my eyes now remind me of FIGHT CLUB and I am forced to keep my eyes open with tape like MEL GIBSON in CONSPIRACY THEORY Haha.

So to peak my visual senses and keep my heart rate going, here's my inspiration for this weekend that is looooong overdue:
