YouTube Channel... long overdue

Finally, it's been long overdue. I've finally uploaded some things to document my journey on youtube. It's not where I'd like it to be yet, but it's a start so I can continue to work on it. I mainly wanted it to document longer works in progress and for it to be a place where I can look back on things I've done. Too many times have I kept videos and pictures of works and my journey only to get lost in the abyss. Now I can share it with all of you, the good and the bad.

Check it out here if you haven't yet:

Let me know what you think and what you'd like to see more of.

Follow Your Dreams

Don't let anyone doubt who you are or what you can achieve until you actually try and achieve them and know for yourself. The biggest doubt is yourself and fear of failure will stop anyone in their tracks.

The mind is powerful. We are what we think we are, so choose wisely. There is so much out there in the world. So much hate and so much hurt. There are moments missed and moments too short to not remember that each second is valuable. If you don't do it yourself, no one will. So decide. Decide who you want to ultimately win that battle inside of you and you must decide if you will choose happiness.

These words are meant to strengthen and inspire. Centering oneself is a powerful tool and remembering that we can achieve great things can lead us to become something greater than we can imagine. Be creative, be bold and have an open mind.

Ahh, good times. I had to start off with that because I wanted to start off with something positive and inspiring and something that's been a topic as of late. This week is Thanksgiving, so a time to reboot, recharge and give thanks.

I use to think that I was getting road blocks and that when I wasn't creating everyday I was getting behind and putting too much emphasis on how much outcome I had and less on the input. What we put into our bodies is what we get out of it. So time for a revamp. Everything I did changed and it started with one small step. Breakfast. I ate differently, chose different foods and found inspiration by making myself an inspiration. I put what art I could on my nails to remind me of my desires and mood that would light my way.

Make time for yourself, make time for others, be aware of your surroundings and never forget that anything is possible. Even the simplest things can be inspiring.

On another note, check out these brush strokes, foods and plating techniques :)

Excuse some of the blurriness because the camera is being a big poop butt, but hopefully i'll be able to fix it soon. I just wanted to be able to post something for everyone as an update since the holidays are going to be quite busy!

Until next time,
xoxo

Fall Falling

Changes, Changes, Changes

As the seasons change and temperatures fluctuate, nature is a great source of inspiration for naturally occuring beauty and fuels internal motivation. Lately, some of my days have been sparked with imagination and creativity and others not so much. I've been feeling a bit bogged down and what better way to change it up than to take a breath of fresh air and take another look at my surroundings?

Unfortunately, my favorite fall red leaves weren't on the ground yet, but the yellows still made a beautiful mix of colors. Maybe that's why I added the Red type into the photo for a graphic contrast. I hope to bring you more goodies now that i'm all cozied up and inspired by texture and warmth. Where will you go for inspiration today?

Pre/PostOp Gifts

Looking for something to tide you over when you'll be having cabin fever?

Make a checklist of things to have before you bunker down in your abode:

1.  A calendar to keep track of time - yes you can use the one on your phone, but what if there's a power outage or what if you need a little pick me up and learn through tactile senses? It only helps that you're staring at something motivational, like a zombie killing fighting machine in times of need :)

2. Cozy socks - Definitely helps that one of the coldest parts of the body, in my opinion, is comforted and it's definitely a plus if they're printed so that you don't fall into the cave-person-slump. Feel lively and energetic as you take care of yourself with these simple items.

3. A shawl/sweater/drapery of some sort - helps to just throw something around yourself in case you get chilly and if unexpected company stops by. Opt for something simple so that it will go with whatever gear you have underneath. I've been wearing mine day in and day out to give me the cozy feeling I need no matter what the temperature is outside. Also take into account the lightweight material. Choose something easy to carry and put on. The last thing you want is to feel like you're carrying 5 people on your back while doing squats... eeks.

Thanks to my thoughtful sisters, i've received some amazing and simple gifts for my recovery time.  Unfortunately, i'll be undergoing another surgery and hopefully it'll be my last. Two surgeries in 3 months time is a lot to handle and takes a lot of consideration. Crossing my fingers for a positive outcome and i'm fortunate to have these wonderful gifts to tide me over a second time.

Statement Accessories to Bring the 'Mee' Out of You

As Spring looms with rain and stormy forecasts, it is also a reminder that Summer is coming. Through the rain and sun, eating and partying, here are my picks for accessories that will bring lift to your soul instead of weigh you down. Hopefully, they'll bring out our your own personalized style as they are easily interchangeable with whatever idea you come up with.

From Winter to Spring : A Curators' Love

For some individuals, curating comes not just in the form of a hobby, but true and real passion. It's not just pressing all the "like" buttons out there to get attention, but actually investing a part of ourselves by saying, I accept this as a representation of what i'm trying to achieve. There is no right or wrong. Instead, curators showcase to the world what can be, could be, and perhaps will be. They take the best of the best based on their vision.

As Spring approaches, I am reminded that I need a new inspiration board to get me through this climate transition and another turmoil... surgery. It'll be my second surgery in 3 months and I absolutely am not looking forward to it. I need to keep myself going and absolutely have to make sure that I don't sacrifice a part of myself and most importantly, my sanity!!! Thus, my curative vision has currently encompassed some of my daily needs.

Qualifications:
1. Comfortable
2. Flats
3. Easy and interchangeable items of clothing
4. Effortless
5. Conveys relaxed yet upbeat mood

Take another look at the world around you... what do you see instead of what's shown to you? Visualize your dreams, happiness, goals and don't stop there. Inspire yourself and the rest will follow.

Holiday Sparkle

Ever have one of those days when is hard to find the sparkle inside? It's been a rough couple of days but today has proven to be most difficult. Sometimes dreaming can make this worse and thinking what could be or what has happened just gets in the way of moving forward, but remember there is always a star that shines bright in all of us... we just gotta find it.

Lights are up and people are either happy with joy or down with their luck every winter season. It's hard to find those just muddling in between, or perhaps they're everywhere and people are too busy to notice. It's all about making time. It's about making sure that we don't forget about the little things and the people or the parts in our lives that add meaning. Sometimes finding that sparkle and creating it around you will make a big difference and an even more gratifying outcome than searching for it in places that don't exist. We only have control over ourselves and with our own spark, you can make anything shine bright!

I took some much needed love for myself and took 2 of my beloved nail polishes and layered them together. I found the best way to do this is by first applying the glitter coats then applying confetti on top. The mix of glitter and large confetti helps the glow from any angle. Also make sure that the two colors enhance each other but are not the same. The glitter pieces are very fine and pink while the confetti pieces are bold and bright gold. Most importantly, have fun with your creations!

Take the smallest time and make an effort for the little things that maybe we forgot were a part of our daily lives. Be your own light and others will follow in your footsteps. It all starts within ourselves.

Shine bright Mee Lovelies!

Doctors for Christmas

' Tis the season to do more than be greedy this holiday season.

Right: Dr. Marten's

The countdown is on and i will be getting hip surgery in a couple of weeks but also so Christmas nearing. I will be donating my Dr. Martens above and a few more items for those who do not have the necessities this holiday season. With all the glitz and glam that surrounds us sometimes it's easy to forget there are others with less than what we have.

Let's try to give back and spread the movement! Sometimes all you need is to give love in order to receive it. Send it share it spread it. Infect the world with love!

Crushin' Winter

While working on some undergoing projects, i had trouble focusing today. I put on my favorite bits and proceeded to mentally wash everything away.

Above are some of my darker pieces: the one on the right is vintage and the other from forever21. I'm a big believer in being able to find or create affordable items without sacrificing personal style.

Whenever we find ourselves in a rut or bombarded by white noise, why not take the little things in life we enjoy and the inspiration it takes for us to move forward on our own path? Each day is journey... why not stylize it?

What themes do you find yourself going for this winter?

Insta Gratify Mee

Sunday funday continues through instagram's immediate positive reinforcement to gratify all my desires. I'm a late bloomer of instagram and sad to say I've succumb to all it has to offer, especially for those who are decent enough to do the right thing by citing their sources. All in all it has served as a gigantic mood board of life that represents what @eternallymee is all about.

Here are the best of this week's inspiration in case anyone missed them :

Thanks Holidaze

Although there's a bit of rough patch for me this year, I've never been so thankful this holiday season as i am today. I am so grateful to be in a healthier mind state and feel so much more emotionally balanced. I think this has a lot to do with how I really tried to work on myself this year. I feel like I've been transported to an entirely different place..a place where i know myself enough to be happy about having friends that support me and loved ones that care. Although it doesn't feel like it at times, I'm more of a loner so it helps to make time and space for me and loved ones when appropriate.

Going through this changing process really helped me make my own path and the sense of freedom is greater than i imagined. I'm willing to let go and move on, I'm willing to live and be loved and express all this for those who will listen. Each day is precious. It doesn't matter all the negatives we constantly hear around us. Let's use that to our advantage and grow as people. I found that by giving love to myself i was able to find love in others.

I was suppose to recycle that wonderful pastry box above, but felt it was so artistic to even let go... just for now. It's my little inspiration for today to keep me balanced. Smiles!!

I was also blessed with more cheer stemming from french baguettes and dark chocolate shared by my sister's heart warming attempt to win me over and my mom's love of french style cuisine.

The day is not over and i wish i wasn't feeling so drained already, but I'm still going to strive to keep this positive outlook going far and beyond. Let's spread the love by being thankful for the little things and even for the people we have trouble with for those are the ones that will really make us learn more about ourselves so that we can be geared in the right direction.

Happy happy thanks!!!!

O Camo My Camo

I really wish it were warm enough to wear this and I'm pretty sure i could add some leg wear and a long sweater or coat i could but unfortunately I'm cleaning things up so that i can have front row access to my sweats for after joint surgery.

I'll be limited in terms of my posts here but hopefully I'll keep my instagram updated so follow me there @eternallymee !!!

I hope u join me for my journey and I'll be updating u on further projects soon so stay tuned! This camo bag will probably make several appearances this year as i will most likely use it for the hospital for the extra cargo pockets on the side. I love pockets!

DIY Calendars

Since the majority of people today use handheld mobile devices and paperless materials, the use of papered calenders is diminishing quite a bit. So instead of going straight to the recycling bin with the old ones, why not use them as diy projects? For those with very little time like me but in need of somehow keeping something meaningful in a useful manner, i found that creating your own spot of inspiration with calendars truly helps. It's very easy and quick with just a snip of your scissors and you've got your own wall art to decorate your place.

Leopard Love

Release your inner animal. Everyone's got it, which one's yours?

For me, when i was younger i was in love with the black panther worth its sleek black and threatening appeal. I loved the color black even though i was told countless times to wear more color. The black panther then grew to become the leopard as i was infatuated with it for a grade school project i did. As i drew in the intricate patterns i realized there was so little difference between the look of the cheetah and the leopard but somehow the leopard i was more fond of. I think it's probably due to the feminine flower-like patterns on an animal so strong and fierce. Understandably, i grew up liking the mix of masculinity and femininity in one look. They provide the perfect balance.

Reminiscing the above shots when i was working with LM, i wanted a modern day retro/vintage feel so i crossed the ties around my neck in a bow tie fashion around the front instead. This can accentuate the lines you want to achieve but also be so simple with the fabric already there.

Find your mark by looking at some simple alterations. What animal will you set free today?

Hope

Time for those darn socks u need to pull out during those cold days. Not sure why my feet get extra cold compared to my body but i don't mind wearing socks as long as my feet stay warm and NOT sweaty! I love these since they give me the love and comfort i so desperately need.

This is gonna be a short post because i assume no one really reads anymore, hah. I just wanted to let those of you who've been struggling know that if you put your mind to it, you can make your own path. I've been in all sorts of ups and downs and have been greatly impacted by the support I've received through out my struggles. I wanted to give up many times and doubted myself. But here i am speaking to anyone who wants to listen. You are not alone and I'm here to share my story and creations with u.

During the wee hours of the morning i find myself creating these little things that make me happy or enter that world where i can center myself in a place of serenity. Make your dreams come true by finding your own path and listening to your heart. Don't be afraid because you can accomplish great things with that fear.

I hope that one day I will fully finish one of my long time projects to share with u all. There is hope. You just have to teach for it and never let go.

Comfy. Cozy. Crazy.

Changes will be coming as prepare for surgery set for this December. I've been spending most of my time cleaning and sanitizing the space around me so that i will be able to have an infection free environment. So naturally I've been able to gravitate towards what i love most: sweat pants haha.

I value comfort over everything else and i think that's what i start with when i begin and end any day.

The climate has been so bipolar this November and currently it's so very cold. So in order to rest indoors and occasionally take that breath of fresh air, I've resorted to sweat pants and layering tops to adjust to the changing Temps from indoors to outdoors.

On the plus side I've got pockets and anyone who knows me knows i will keep anything with good pockets. I've had this jacket for years and it's still my go to jacket for all things.

What's your go to item for this season?
